Not Just another NibbleBit Blog
This is a wallpaper from a new Powerade campaign. This image features swimmer Gregor Tait, au naturel. I don’t normally post pix of guys without a suit on, but this one is very special, in my opinion.
I found this image on Just Beautiful Men.
So here’s the second part of the big Post 400. Once again, with a nod and thanks to Tottyland, I had a small prayer answered today.
I’ve been looking around for more than a year to find out the identity of a swimmer I had a folder on, but no name. It turns out (thanks to a small recent mention of this swimmer in Tottyland) that his name is Travis Nederpelt, an Aussie.
So, for my 400th post, I’d like to dedicate this anniversary to Travis.
Speaking of A Cause des Garcons, just discovered I had also missed two wonderful posts (with 56 photos total!) they did awhile ago on divers: here (last August) and here (this past March).
Here are some sample shots from both posts.
Yup, I was right, except I can’t find where I previously posted the last photo in the previous post. However, I am right that the photo in question was taken probably in 2007, not 2006, since I found that photo (somewhere) online in April 2007. Anyway, here it is along with a few other photos of Aussie surf lifesavers with their boards. There’s a bonus wallpaper at the end.
From OhLaLa Magazine’s galleries: photos from the 2009 Nutri-Grain Aussie Surf Lifesaving Championships. Normally, I don’t republish a whole gallery from another blog, but this one is fun, and I like Aussies, and their gear.
PS: The last photo, I want to point out, looks very much like a photo published early in this blog’s history. I will look for it and post that one again for comparison. Hmmmmmm.
I’ve got better than two dozen posts waiting in the wings, all of them shoutouts to other blogs with great swimming photos. This has been a busy period for speedo lovers in blog-land, clearly.
Kudos to OhLaLa Magazine, once again, for its excellent photo coverage of the FINA games in Rome. They have so many photos, you should just go there and see for yourself. I count six articles on OhLaLa since the games started: here, here, here, here and here, as well as their story about Ricky Berens mentioned in the previous post I did yesterday, and updated today, about him.
Here are some highlight pix from their postings. I may post some more of them later. LOTS to look at and admire. Especially this top photo of a Spanish team swimmer in a GOLD full-body suit. Oh-La-La!
Ricky Berens may have made the news this week with his wardrobe malfunction that everyone has posted about now, but the FINA games in Rome this month have generated a lot more blogging than any aquatic event since the Beijing Olympics a year ago.
Here’s the photos posted on Seb & Feed’s ParisianBoys blog. More about the right hand photo at top in the next posting.
From the Huffington Post:
US Swimmer and Beijing relay gold medalist Ricky Berens tore the back of his swimsuit in a qualifying heat of the 4×100m relay freestyle on Sunday during the World Swimming Championships in Rome. Shortly before stepping up to the starting block, the University of Texas senior leaned down to stretch and his suit tore.“I kind of freaked out for just a second,” Berens said. “I felt like [the hole] was almost down to my knees. I felt like I was putting on a pretty good show.”
He did. And the US qualified for finals and won.
Photos from the HuffPost story follow.
New photos of Ricky Berens, the top one from OhLaLa Magazine.
But this is fun….
