This is still one of the most beautiful photos of an aqua athlete I’ve ever seen or even imagined. It’s one of the sidebar pix from this blog. Found this nice large version of it on Just Fit Lads.

The third post I want to thank Adam for is one of the best photo posts I’ve seen this year, from April 25, entitled Scenes from a Race. Hot wet muscle-y men in leggings and speedos, outdoors, and unabashed about their bodies….Oh, nevermind.

Mr. Candids has also recently posted three of the hottest swimming posts I’ve seen in a long time. The most recent features our own USA Olympic medalist Ryan Lochte.

The next post I love features that cute Team USA waterpolo player who’s eternally being chased by his teammates around the pool deck. Believe I’ve posted a set or two of him before. I’ll check that out when I get home. Here are Adam’s typically huge and beautiful photos.

The last post gets its own post next.

Adam’s always putting cute guys on his Candids blog, but this recent single photo post just grabs my cheeks and makes me smile. A smile that launched a thousand strokes perhaps?

If you recall this image (which has been posted and reposted all over now):

Then you may or may not have seen its companion:

But I just found this somewhere (can’t recall) & thought I should share it. One of my all time favorite pix.

A lot of the images that have been posted on this blog are shown here in a video format. Enjoy.

Speaking of Michael Phelps….I’ve been looking everywhere for this one.

After seeing some tantalizing lo-rez images in various places from the Michael Phelps-Julianne Moore-Disney-sponsored ‘Little Mermaid’ shoot, I’d been hoping to find a large-scale version of the key image by Annie Leibovitz.

Well, SCAQ found it and posted it back in April. And I’ve posted the PRNewswire-released 1800 x 1191 version SCAQ links to below. (Note: the original release has been deleted from PRNewswire.)

Disney recently hired photographer Annie Leibovitz to realize live-action fantasy moments from their movies, called the ‘Disney Dream Portrait Series.’ Michael Phelps, Rowdy Gaines, Cullen Jones, Janet Evans and Brendan Hansen all became mermen and a mermaid surrounding Julianne Moore as Ariel from ‘The Little Mermaid’ in this now famous photo below.

Other top talent who appeared in this series were Tina Fey, Jenifer Lopez, Jessica Biel, Gisele Bundchen, Mikhail Baryshinikov, Scarlett Johansson, Beyoncé and David Beckham, among others.

A long time ago, I found a proto-blog on a Japanese site called Yoruzu (which I can no longer find). I collected a number of shots from there of Japanese lifeguard competitions, and until Speedo Jack posted one of them recently, I’d never seen any of those photos anywhere else.

So here’s part of that extensive set, my favorite group, featuring the very fine, fine rear of one lifeguard, all in blue.

One of those brave Diana-wearing swim peacocks I referred to in the previous post is Ukrainian Oleg Lisogor, one of the most beautiful men to ever don a pair of swim tights. Diana is the official supplier to the Ukrainian swim team.

Finneye took the first and final two images here in Helsinki in 2006 for Outsports.com. The second and third images were taken by a very fine swimming photographer, Enyo15, who has three portfolios of competition images here. One previous WetSpeedos posting from February 2008 of Enyo15’s photos from Berlin can be found here.

Enyo15 says that the swimmer in the red and blue British Diana tights in the foreground of image two below is American swimmer Ed Moses. That’s Oleg in the water.

Some of the bravest peacocks of the swim world — most of them Europeans — wear jammers, leggings and full suits by the Italian company, Diana Swim. I love not only their vibrant color palettes, but also the low slung cut of their leggings and jammers. The men who wear them aren’t too bad either.

Most of these photos were taken by Finneye for Outsports.com in Helsinki at the 2006 European Short Course Swimming Championships. If you haven’t visited these extensive galleries, then I recommend you click here. Finneye has a nice Flickr gallery as well.

One of these images was published here in my previous blog post from Finneye’s Outsports.com galleries. These are the first wallpapers I’ve published from Finneye’s work. I’ve got a lot more ready to post.
