Not Just another NibbleBit Blog
So here’s the second part of the big Post 400. Once again, with a nod and thanks to Tottyland, I had a small prayer answered today.
I’ve been looking around for more than a year to find out the identity of a swimmer I had a folder on, but no name. It turns out (thanks to a small recent mention of this swimmer in Tottyland) that his name is Travis Nederpelt, an Aussie.
So, for my 400th post, I’d like to dedicate this anniversary to Travis.
You never know what you’re going to find if you haven’t looked at a blog for awhile. Tottyland always has a few posts here and there featuring swimmers, but today I checked it out after noticing I hadn’t looked at their most recent 25 postings.
To my amazement, Tottyland has been a hotbed of swimmer images lately. Check this out… 33 images (not including the Marco Monaco images from the previous post). But wait! There’s more in the next post!

“Ready for what?” says Will Smith. “To Put on the Last Suit You’ll Ever Wear,” says Tommy Lee Jones, in Men in Black.
Well, here’s Canadian swimmer Marco Monaco putting on his Blue Seventy suit, in a video posted by the Toronto Star. Very instructive. Apparently, he prefers regular, traditional speedo-style suits. Hmmmmmm.
Update: I tried to post the original embed of the video, which is clearer, but it didn’t work properly in this constricted blog format, and then the vid embed was disabled. Ah well.
Speaking of A Cause des Garcons, just discovered I had also missed two wonderful posts (with 56 photos total!) they did awhile ago on divers: here (last August) and here (this past March).
Here are some sample shots from both posts.
Let’s wrap up the evening with a post from Beauty and the Bum, which includes a couple of new shots of French swimmer Frederick Bousquet and his now famous gold Jaked (thanks, J.) full body suit from the Rome FINA games. Woof.
PS: The above linked story also includes a link to another Beauty and the Bum story that revealed a bit more of M. Bousquet than can be seen through a polyurethane swim skin. Follow the links there to yet another story you can find yourself that is even MORE revealing.
Yup, I was right, except I can’t find where I previously posted the last photo in the previous post. However, I am right that the photo in question was taken probably in 2007, not 2006, since I found that photo (somewhere) online in April 2007. Anyway, here it is along with a few other photos of Aussie surf lifesavers with their boards. There’s a bonus wallpaper at the end.
From OhLaLa Magazine’s galleries: photos from the 2009 Nutri-Grain Aussie Surf Lifesaving Championships. Normally, I don’t republish a whole gallery from another blog, but this one is fun, and I like Aussies, and their gear.
PS: The last photo, I want to point out, looks very much like a photo published early in this blog’s history. I will look for it and post that one again for comparison. Hmmmmmm.
Here’s links to two other posts from A Cause des Garcons about the FINA games in Rome, just to save you the trouble of hunting and pecking through their post history: Diving in Rome and Ricky Berens…. Some sample photos follow.
